Today, you will explore the final type of parenthesis... dashes. Read about what they are and then have a go at the questions.
Parenthesis is when you add extra information to a sentence using commas, brackets or dashes. Let’s move onto dashes. Dashes work in exactly the same way as commas and brackets so they surround the extra information and the sentence MUST make sense when the extra information is removed like this: My best friend - called Emma - lives next door to me. My best friend lives next door to me. The sentence still makes sense without the extra information that is within the dashes.
